Scrapbooking has become very popular lately, adding new trends to keeping family albums. So why would someone want to do a baby shower using scrapbooks? Well this is a simple answer in a way. A lot of woman now days have become board with the traditional baby shower games. Not to mention that people want to see pictures. When your child grows up it gives them a chance to see what the pictures are and see how the parent had set it up with themes, pictures, and what they used.
There are many kinds of scrapbooks out there, some range in traditional pink or blue colors. Others can be more extravagant, with frills and extras that can be added. There are Scrapbooking kits that are geared toward baby showers. Most of these kits are very simple to use and come with everything. These kits are inexpensive and work well. Of the kits available they have plain types for boys or girls to ensure that you can have the one you want. Or they have a either sex kit or two around that it wont matter for those parents who don't want to know the sex of the child or don't know.
One of the most wonderful parts of baby shower scrapbooks are the large amount of binders and page types available. You can of course stay plain, however they do offer pages that can look like clouds, teddy bears, Ducks, flowers, basically you name it. A 12' x 12' book is one of the key ingredients to making a good baby scrapbook.
You will want to have at least 1 page per 2 guests, 4" by 6" colored index cards. Photo adhesive or photo boarders will also be needed to hold the photos firmly in place. Don't forget to add the markers, colored pencils, stencils, and stickers to add flair to the pages.
There is a Baby Photo advice section you can add that is either the scrapbook or you can add some 12; by 12' sheets for people to put advice to the child for the later years when they can read and understand them. Boarders can also be added, which are great looking. If you are religious they also offer pages and ideas that are religious themed and can be used. And for those that are born near a holiday you can have pages put in telling about the holidays when they are, and sometimes what they represent.
Some places also carry picture boarders that you can cut to the size of the photo and then paste it onto the photo with ease. These are good to use because they add flavor to the photo and the page alike. When selecting these borders you will want to search for the right border for you. Some feature clouds, confetti, balloons, animals, or shapes. This is one of the last steps because you will want to have your pages set up before you add your photos.
Stickers for scrapbooks have added a lot of flair and now you can also get character stickers. Offered are Build-A-Bear both boys and girls, Thomas the train stickers, Thomas the train Border stickers, and Sesame Street characters. More are out there so you can find what your baby will like or might like or what just looks good in the baby scrapbook.
