Felt is a trendy and popular fabric in craft. I also like to use felt while crafting with my children. You can make felt into 3D photos, you can sew a felt flower, you can cut felt into different shapes and paste on your scrapbooking etc.

Secret #1 Felt scrapbooking patch work with adhesive.

Felt can be used with adhesive. Use adhesive that is able to paste felt, do different felt color patching on top of each other to create layer and depth look design.

Secret #2 Sew the felt into many different pattern to create home made embellishment.

You can sew the felt into different shapes, object such as flower like rose, lily etc. I like to cut felt into lily flower shapes and then sew and the cut out together to create 3D look of lily flower. You can use the same method for rose too!

Secret #3 Design on the felt using marker or acrylic paint to make as your scrapbooking background pattern.

I love painting and drawing. You can use felt as based covered your photo frame, then color it into different simple pattern to create stunning design!

Wrap felt around pebble stone, then soap some portion into poster paint, wait till it dry, open the felt cloth, then you will see a nice design at the center of felt. The 10 Most Essential Items For Every Scrapbooking Kit

There are so many scrapbooking supplies out there that it can be difficult to know where to start. As you do more and more scrapbooking you will start to put together many items into a kit. You can start your kit with the 10 items below. They are tried-and-true tools that belong in the arsenal of every serious scrapbooker.

A Scrapbooking Album

This one's a no brainer, you can't scrapbook without an album. There are a wide variety of them out there in different shapes and sizes. Be sure to pick one that matches your theme and colors. If you take the time to find the perfect one it will make all the difference in your project.

A Pair of Scissors

A nice, sharp pair of scissors is a must for the serious scrapbooker. In fact, we recommend having a pair that is only used for your scrapbooking. That way you won't have to deal with lost or dull scissors.

Adhesives

You certainly don't want your scrapbook pieces falling apart on you. Unfortunately, that might be exactly what happens if you chose the wrong adhesive. As a rule, any kind of children's glue or cheap gluesticks will cause problems. Some of the best adhesives are photo tab dispensers, and double sided tape runners. Whatever adhesive you chose, make sure that is acid-free.

Tweezers

Unless you want to get your hands messy and smudge up your scrapbook pages you'll need some tweezers. They make placing small pieces on your scrapbook a snap.

Scrapbook Paper

Make sure the size of your scrapbook paper matches the size of the album you are using. Great scrapbooking paper will be also be acid-free and may be described as buffered or lignin-free. Card stock is also a great paper to have around as it can be used for many things related to scrapbooking.

Pen

A good pen is also a must for scrapbooking. It doesn't have to be fancy, just a basic black pen that is acid-free. You may want to add more pens with different colors as your scrapbooking kit grows.

Paper Trimmer

A paper trimmer is a necessary tool for cutting straight and making squares. There are several different sizes of trimmer and all of them are useful. It's probably best to start with a 12" paper trimmer but you may also want to get a smaller one for portability reasons.

Eyelet Setter Kit

Some of our favorite scrapbooks use eyelets for embellishments. Without an eyelet setter kit you won't be able to use these handy little guys. Fortunately they are easy to find online or at most craft stores. They are also affordable.

Embellishments

These are the little things that give a scrapbook character: Stickers, eyelets, buttons, charms, etc. Go for embellishments that match the theme of your scrapbook. Have fun collecting these!

A Great Scrapbooking Book

Need some scrapbooking ideas? You'll usually be able to get some inspiration if you have a good idea book around. Becky Higgins and Tracy White are both authors who have written some fantastic books on the subject of scrapbooking.

Sensational Single Colored Scrapbook Layouts

There is mystery in shadows, energy in bright colors, and peace in subtle hues. Color combinations play a huge part in a scrapper's life. Take a minute to think about how color can help you express your mood when creating a layout. By choosing the right color, the best shade, hue, tint and tone you can communicate that special feeling you want to capture. Using single colors is a great way to compliment your pictures and create a visual harmony in your layouts.

Monochromatic pages are some of the most pleasing to look at, and they can also be emotionally soothing. Choose a base color that highlights your photos and help convey what you want to express on your page. Boost the page's visual power by using various shades and levels of saturation of the color you choose. Add a mix of shapes, patterns and textures to make your pages more interesting. Some colored papers are designed to coordinate with each other, watch for these and use them to maximize your choice. This will also save you time when trying to match papers.

You can use colors ranging form bright and vibrant to pale and translucent. From red to pale pink every color has many different tints and shades. Each color evokes a distinct mood and feeling, depending on how is used. Here are a few tips to follow when you are trying to decide which color you should use when creating your layout.

Yellow is associated with flowers and the sun which in turn are associated with cheerfulness, warmth, energy and truth.

Red traditionally represents holidays like Christmas and Valentines Day. It is also associated with love, romance and even rage or embarrassment.

Blue may reflect sadness, sorrow or tears as well as spirituality or infinite space or sky.

Green is one of the most natural and expressive colors. It is symbolic of summer, spring and nature which include emotions such as peace, and growth.

Orange brings to mind Halloween and autumn. It is a warm color that suggests fire and sensuality.

Purple signifies virtue, pride and maturity. As the hues shift lighter, it represents royalty, truth and calmness. It also brings out Easter and spring time.

Choose your colors to match you photos and bring out the emotions you want to cherish as much as the day the happened.

Baby Shower Scrapbooking Ideas

Scrapbooking has become very popular lately, adding new trends to keeping family albums. So why would someone want to do a baby shower using scrapbooks? Well this is a simple answer in a way. A lot of woman now days have become board with the traditional baby shower games. Not to mention that people want to see pictures. When your child grows up it gives them a chance to see what the pictures are and see how the parent had set it up with themes, pictures, and what they used.

There are many kinds of scrapbooks out there, some range in traditional pink or blue colors. Others can be more extravagant, with frills and extras that can be added. There are Scrapbooking kits that are geared toward baby showers. Most of these kits are very simple to use and come with everything. These kits are inexpensive and work well. Of the kits available they have plain types for boys or girls to ensure that you can have the one you want. Or they have a either sex kit or two around that it wont matter for those parents who don't want to know the sex of the child or don't know.

One of the most wonderful parts of baby shower scrapbooks are the large amount of binders and page types available. You can of course stay plain, however they do offer pages that can look like clouds, teddy bears, Ducks, flowers, basically you name it. A 12' x 12' book is one of the key ingredients to making a good baby scrapbook.

You will want to have at least 1 page per 2 guests, 4" by 6" colored index cards. Photo adhesive or photo boarders will also be needed to hold the photos firmly in place. Don't forget to add the markers, colored pencils, stencils, and stickers to add flair to the pages.

There is a Baby Photo advice section you can add that is either the scrapbook or you can add some 12; by 12' sheets for people to put advice to the child for the later years when they can read and understand them. Boarders can also be added, which are great looking. If you are religious they also offer pages and ideas that are religious themed and can be used. And for those that are born near a holiday you can have pages put in telling about the holidays when they are, and sometimes what they represent.

Some places also carry picture boarders that you can cut to the size of the photo and then paste it onto the photo with ease. These are good to use because they add flavor to the photo and the page alike. When selecting these borders you will want to search for the right border for you. Some feature clouds, confetti, balloons, animals, or shapes. This is one of the last steps because you will want to have your pages set up before you add your photos.

Stickers for scrapbooks have added a lot of flair and now you can also get character stickers. Offered are Build-A-Bear both boys and girls, Thomas the train stickers, Thomas the train Border stickers, and Sesame Street characters. More are out there so you can find what your baby will like or might like or what just looks good in the baby scrapbook.

Techniques To Improve Your Handmade Greeting Cards Or Scrapbooks Using The Concept Of Embossed Icing

As promised I would now like to share with you some of the steps involved in using embossed icing along with a brass stencil template.

Tools needed: Brass Stencil Template, Spatula, Low stick stencil tape

Supplies Needed: Card Stock, Embossed Icing (I use Embossed Icing from The Stencil Collection).

*Put your paper card stock down on your work surface.

*Pick a stencil and position it on your paper card stock

*Using a low stick adhesive stencil tape, tape down all four sides of the stencil. Don't worry about sticking it to the card stock it will lift right up and not tear the paper.

*Then using a small spatula, take some of the icing and spread it along the stencil filling in the grooves. If you need to change color proceed in the same manner by just spreading the icing on the stencil (Pretend that you are icing a cake - same principle)

*When the entire stencil is filled with icing, take the back end of your spatula and scrape all the excess icing off, so you are left with a smooth non lumpy bumpy surface.

*Now it is time to remove the tape from the stencil. Do it in the reverse that you put it on. Then leave on piece on and use it as a hinge to lift up the stencil this way it will come up straight and not smear/smudge.

* Finally, you just need it to let it set for 10 minutes.

Now you have a completed a beautiful custom handmade greeting card or a unique page in your scrapbook. The really cool thing is when it is completely dry to the touch it actually feels like suede. It also looks raised just like you had heat embossed it. The neat thing is that you did it all without a heat gun and powders. You did it with Embossed Icing.

Have a great day and don't forget to leave time to craft!
